Remembering My Father - #1

"My father is K. Hariharan" -

If there is one thing that I can be thankful for, for being born in this world, its merely the privilege of being able to say this statement - "My father is K. Hariharan".
My father is not a celebrity of sorts. Neither is he a popular stateman nor a wealthy business magnet. But to the one thing he cherished the most in his life - his immediate family - for which he toiled hard, for the betterment of which he lived every moment of his life, he is EVERYTHING. period. His demise would be a lacuna that would remain void for us for the rest of our lives. All through his life, his thoughts had always centered around his family, starting with his parents when he was young and all the way to his sons and grandson during the twilight of his life.
Among his many persona, I, as his son, can only provide unquestionable judgement on how good a father he had been. And, that is exactly what I wish to do next. An attempt at a tribute to the most valuable person I had in my life.

My Father - In Memoriam

My previous blog post started with how my father made earnest attempts to inculcate values in us during our childhood. That post was the first post in my blog which threw light on my father's persona as seen by his children (ie us). I can only call it irony because hardly 3 days after that post, I received the dreaded call from my mom back home - the one I knew heart of heart would come some day even though I dreaded receiving it, the one which I know would throw me off my balance no matter how much I had prepared myself mentally for that. My father, Mr. K. Hariharan, breathed his last on November 10th, 2009 6:00PM at Chennai. Life is never going to be the same again for me, my brother and my mother.
